What do you remember most about your first day on the job?
Way too many guys in white shirts! I moved from a position with Lawtons to Sobeys in 1999. So I had this new job and I thought ‘Geez, I should buy some new shirts.' So I bought five or six different colour shirts. I went into my first meeting and everybody in the room was wearing a white shirt. About halfway through the vice president asked if I noticed anything different and told me about the policy about having to wear white shirts. The policy has changed now but I still don't own many white shirts!
What is the best part of working at Sobeys?
I am very thankful to Sobeys for the opportunity they have given me to grow as a person and to work with so many great people across the country.
What is your proudest moment as a Sobeys employee?
Tough call! It was either winning a Value Champion award or it could be winning the Presenter of the Year award.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I'm a Newfoundlander, so it would have to be on another island.
My Sobeys is...
...taking pride in making Sobeys the best place to work and to shop.
