In early years, the Sobeys Quarter Century Club included employees from Atlantic Canada, and then Quebec and Ontario. With the acquisition of Oshawa Group Limited in the late 1990’s and subsequent reorganization of the company into regional entities, the number of employees as well as geography dictated a reorganization of the Quarter Century Club. For many years, employees from Quebec and Ontario had their own celebrations. With the acquisition of Safeway, Thrifty Foods and other brands, the celebrations were again revisited to reflect our expanding company and to better serve not only our geographical landscape, but the sheer numbers of employees.
